DDA Open golf from today

NEW DELHI, APRIL 5. A field of 48 of the top 50 golfers will be in action at the Rs. 10 lakh DDA Open championship, which tees off at the par-70 Qutab Golf Course here on Wednesday.

Though the Order of Merit leader Mukesh Kumar, who is fresh from Sunday's win in the Rs. 50 lakh PSPB Open, would be the hot favourite, the new course on the Indian PGA Tour should offer a fair chance for all. Several pro golfers had the first experience of the public golf course only on Tuesday during the practice round here.

"You can't predict what will happen, but I think the course will play easy," said Mukesh Kumar. He predicted staggering 22-under as the winning score.

But for Rahil Gangjee and Amandeep Johl — the two have flown out to Kuala Lumpur to play in the British Open qualifying tournament, the 18th leg of the Amby Valley PGAI Tour event promises to be an exciting event.
