Tamil Nadu ahead

JAIPUR, APRIL 5. Tamil Nadu, with 22 VPs, was on top at the end of the first round of the quarterfinal league in the National bridge championship being held here.

Maharashtra `D' (21), Maharashtra `A' (17), WBBA `B' (13), West Zone (11), Railways (9) and Khosla (8) followed Tamil Nadu in that order.

Earlier, eight teams qualified for the league phase. From Group `A', Maharashtra `A', Railways, WBBA `A' and West Zone progressed, while Maharashtra `D', WBBA `B', Khosla and Tamil Nadu made the grade from the other group.
