HYDERABAD, APRIL 5. The victim of Monday's ghastly incident in Adaiahnagar in Secunderabad was a 13-year-old girl, who ran away from home and was given shelter by the killer. The girl was allegedly sexually exploited and strangled after the killer suspected that she could be pregnant. The startling facts came to light on Tuesday after a woman, identified as Suhasini, was nabbed by locals after she and the alleged killer set fire to the girl's body in Adaiahnagar. She told the police that the girl, K. Rama Devi of Cuddapah, was befriended by Samuel Johnson at the Secunderabad railway station. Johnson, the woman told the police, used to administer sedatives and sexually assault the girl. Suhasini and Johnson were live-in companions and differences arose between them over the girl. Johnson allegedly exploited the girl for over four months during which period Suhasini and Johnson shifted base to Guntur and then to Khammam town. They got panicky after the girl was suspected to be pregnant. This created a rift with Suhasini nursing an apprehension of being abandoned if the girl conceived. "Earlier, Suhasini was declared to be barren and this left her more disturbed," the North Zone DCP, Kumar Vishwajeet, said. The couple then decided to eliminate the girl, and on Sunday afternoon Johnson allegedly strangled Rama Devi after administering her sedatives. They stuffed the body in a sack, boarded the Narsapur Express and reached Secunderabad on Monday.
