ANANTAPUR, APRIL 5. Three high school students were killed in a road mishap at Gooty today. According to information reaching here, four students of the Backward Classes Welfare Hostel for boys -- Venkatesh (14), M. Prasad (14), Suresh (14) and Srinivasulu (12) -- went to a borewell near their hostel for taking a bath as there was water scarcity in the hostel. When they were returning to the hostel after taking bath, a jeep hit them when they were crossing the road. Seventh class student, Srinivasulu of Utakallu village, died on the spot. The ninth class students -- Venkatesh of Utakallu and Prasad of Venkatampalli of Pyapili mandal in Kurnool district -- succumbed to their injuries in Gooty Government Hospital. The grievously injured Suresh was rushed to the general hospital here.
