CUDDAPAH, APRIL 5. Seven new post-graduate courses will be introduced in Sri Venkateswara University PG centre, near here, according to the SVU Vice-Chancellor, S. Jayarama Reddy. Speaking at the 27th annual day celebrations of the centre on Tuesday, Prof. Reddy said biochemistry, microbiology, physics, applied mathematics, English, Telugu and economics would be offered from the coming academic year. Regular faculty members would be appointed on five-year contract by July if legal hurdles did not arise, Prof. Reddy said and assured autonomous status for the centre. The V-C later gave away trophies and certificates to students who won in sports competitions. The faculty members of the centre -- Krishna Reddy and Mohan Reddy -- and students took part. Prof. Reddy later visited C.P. Brown Memorial Library.
