Film actor's kin among two killed in accident

TIRUPATI, APRIL 5. Two persons died when the vehicle in which they were travelling hit a tree on the roadside at Kalur Cross near here on Tuesday.

Manchu Prasad (25), son of M. Ranganatha Naidu, of Modugulapalem in Yerpedu mandal and nephew of the film actor, M. Mohan Babu, and M. Gunakara Naidu (35), son of M. Subbarama Naidu, of Kandada in the same mandal, died when their Tata Spacio (AP 9 AV 5225) vehicle rammed into a tree near Perumallapalle. The police suspect that the vehicle skidded on the wet road and swerved to the right, when brakes were suddenly applied.

Manchu Prasad was an administrative officer in the Sri Vidyanikethan Educational Institutions run by Mr. Mohan Babu.

The driver, M. Munikrishna Reddy (26), hailing from Kotala, is struggling for life at SVIMS hospital. His wedding is slated for next month.

The Tirupati Rural Inspector, V. Narasimha Reddy, visited the spot, while the MR Palle SI, C. Syam Sundar, is investigating the case. Mr. Mohan Babu, his father and two sons visited the spot and expressed grief.
