ALAPPUZHA, APRIL 5. Two KSEB workers were electrocuted at Pullukulamgara, near Kayamkulam, this morning while they were carrying out repair work on Kerala State Electricity Board's (KSEB) power transmission lines. The accident occurred at an electric post near Pullukulamgara High School around 10.30 a.m. The deceased have been identified as Arumugham alias Murali, 34, Kinattinte Moottil House, Cheriyazheekkal, Karunagappally and Bruno, 32, Kunnil House, Karithura, Chavara. Both were linemen. While Arumugham died on the spot, Bruno breathed his last at Alappuzha Medical College Hospital in the noon. KSEB officials said they had cut off power supply before repair work. Faults in the changeover switch of some institutions in the area that use high-power generators might have lead to current flowing to the main line, they said. Officials of the electrical inspectorate visited the site.
