Nizamabad
By Our Staff Reporter
NIZAMABAD, APRIL 5. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi district president, A.S. Posetty, has said that people eagerly waited for Rajiv Nagara Bata by the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, hoping that he will shower sops but their hopes have been dashed as Dr. Reddy has not made any specific promises for town development. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Posetty said the Government seemed to have completely forgotten the inter-State Lendi project which was considered to be very useful to the backward Jukkal and Madnur areas in the district. Alleging that Ministers and MLAs from the district were not interested in finding a permanent solution to the water crisis, he observed the supply of water by tankers would never address the water problem completely. He urged the Ministers to make efforts for releasing Singur water to Nizam Sagar, diverting Godavari water through lift schemes and deepening tanks surrounding the town. The TRS district general secretary, J. Bapu Reddy, and other leaders attended.
