Accident victim dies at hospital

MANGALORE, APRIL 5. A person who was run over by a private bus near Koddabbu Daivastana at Srinivasnagar in Suratkal Police Station limits, died of injuries at a private hospital here on Tuesday.

Police said the accident took place when the bus driver, Keshava, moved the bus on directions from the conductor, Shailesh, even as the victim, Ashok Kumar, 26, was alighting from the front door.

Police said Ashok lost his balance and fell under the rear wheels of the bus.

A case has been registered against Keshava and Shailesh based on a complaint from another passenger Madhava M. Salian.

Injured

A person suffered minor injuries when he fell off a bus near the Bantwal bypass in Bantwal Town Police Station limits on Tuesday.

Police said the incident took place when the driver of a KSRTC bus, Yatish, moved the bus even as the complainant, Anand Poojary, was alighting from it.

He is undergoing treatment at the District Government Wenlock Hospital.

Police have registered a case.
