Bomb hoax

Bomb disposal teams and dog squads were rushed to the Secunderabad Railway Station on Tuesday following a telephone call that a bomb was planted on station premises. A person, claiming himself as Venkatesh, called up the station office saying the bomb would explode anytime. The police found an unclaimed suitcase in one corner. However, it turned out to be a hoax call after experts opened the bag and found a railway employee's identity card.

Four persons arrested

Four persons, including a woman, who allegedly tried to mislead the Langer Houz police saying their opponents had attacked them in connection with a land dispute, were arrested at Salarjung colony on Tuesday. "We found that Jabir Khan and three others attacked a landlord, Fidzi Khaleel, and others. To cover up their offence, they made false allegations," the Asifnagar ACP, V. Mahender Reddy, said.

Vehicle stolen

A motorcycle parked in front of the Additional DGP, Ch. Koteswara Rao's, house near St. John's College in East Marredpally was allegedly stolen. A Police Department driver, B. Mastan Vali, went to the police officer's house on March 30. He parked the vehicle near the compound wall and went inside. On return, he found the vehicle stolen, the Tukaramgate police said.

Cash bag snatched

Two motorcycle-borne youth allegedly snatched away Rs. 45,000 from a groceries store owner, Qadir, while he was returning home after closing the shop late on Tuesday night. Qadir was intercepted near Shahalibanda-New Shamsheergunj road by the duo and his cash bag was snatched.
