`Raise quality standards'

COIMBATORE, APRIL 5. "Improve quality and bring down costs to meet the challenges of international competition," said M. Victor Louis Anthuvan, Head of Department of Commerce, St. Joseph's College, Trichy, here recently.

He was speaking at a national symposium on `Business in Free Trade Era-Trends and Opportunities' organised by the Nirmala College for Women in association with ICFAI National College. "Critical quality consciousness needs to be taken up as a national campaign," he added.

He said Indians faced competition on many frontsand it was wrong to think that globalisation was a recent phenomenon for India. "India was always part of the global economy."
