Yuki Bhambri in quarterfinals

NEW DELHI, APRIL 6. Yuki Bhambri emphasised his growing confidence as he beat Chung-Su Chen of Chinese Taipei 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 in the pre-quarterfinals of the ITF Asian under-14 tennis championship second leg at the DLTA Complex here on Wednesday.

The fifth-seeded Yuki will be able to check his progress with a quarterfinal encounter against the top-seeded Pattrayu Chumpetch of Thailand. In the girls section, sixth-seeded Shweta Kumari Solanki reached the quarterfinals and will meet the third-seeded Nicha Lertpitaksinchai of Thailand.

Prerna Mythri slipped after a brave fight and went down 2-6, 7-6 (4), 3-6 to Al Nabhani Fatma of Oman who had earlier ousted the fifth-seeded Beatrice Gumulya of Indonesia in another tough three-setter.
