Amrik wins gold

HYDERABAD, APRIL 6. Amrik Singh of the Andhra-Tamil Nadu-Karnataka & Kerala area clinched the 20km walk gold on the second day of the Southern Command Athletics and marathon championships at the Artillery Centre here on Wednesday. He clocked an hour and 37:25.60m

The results:

20km walk: 1. Amrik Singh (ATNK & K) 1 hr 37 m 25.60 secs 2. Harminder Singh (ATNK & K) 3. Parmjit Singh (MG & G).

Shotput: 1. Sunil Kumar 14.57 m 2. S. Santosh Kumar (both ATNK & K) 3. Ramesh Kumar (31 AD).

Long jump: 1. Ratish Kumar 6.63 m 2. R.P. Ravi (both ATNK & K) 3. Praveen Solanki (MG & G).

5000m: 1. P. Nagender Rao 15:35.96 mins. 2. Guruprakash (both ATNK & K) 3. K.K. Laiju (MG & G).
