NEW DELHI, APRIL 6. Inspired by the success of `Incredibles' and `Finding Nemo', a Bangalore-based Bhangra rock group is bringing out India's first 3-D animation music video which will have digital Sardars dancing all the way. Being brought out by Balle Balle Boyz group, it has 3D animation characters of The Boyz along with the dancers in flesh and blood for a unique digital experience. The video has been created by a Hyderabad based group using the latest in digital animation. ``Punjabi videos are very popular here but of late, they are all the same, showing the same dance sequences and wedding scenes. We would like to be seen as different from the Punjabi video clutter... and now you can call us digital Sardars,'' says Navdeep Singh, the younger of the Punjabi pop duo. ``People are looking for something different in music and 3D animation offers lot of experimentation. Since music albums are hit with youngsters, through this new medium they can look up to something new,'' says Vineet Singh. ``Moreover, this is the future of entertainment... audiences need to be entertained differently. Plus we had a storyline that demanded animation and the results are amazing," he says. ``In a scenario where you have 1000 music videos playing every week in some 20 channels, clutter breaking is critical to get noticed,'' says Vineet. ``The success of The Incredibles, Finding Nemos and other animations in India has shown that we are ready for this medium of entertainment... thus this effort of ours to produce the first 3D animation music video,'' says Vineet. While this album is in Punjabi, Hindi and English, Vineet says language would be no barrier for this medium. Only the artists character has to match with the theme. In this album, `Chakde Saturday' (Fun on Saturday), the animation characters (Vineet and Navdeep) land in one place where they try to find their real characters. They enter different doors named after days of the week, and when they reach Saturday, they find the real Balle Balle Boys dancing and singing, says Vineet, an engineer and MBA from Delhi. ``The real dancing and fun is happening on Saturday and thus the name Chakde Saturday... the video is in the naughty humorous genre as our previous songs,'' says Navdeep, a sound engineer who has worked with a Disney affiliated production studio for Lion King TV series in New York. The two had earlier made news with their superhit albums `My Name is Manjeet' and `Baba Kara De Ishq'. In the second album, the duo dressed up like Spiderman, Devdas and Beckham and the unique feature of the video was that all the songs began with the letter B -- they received a Limca Book of Records mention for this feat. "In `Chakde Saturday', our characters totally merge with the animated characters... you can see our animated and real self dancing side by side," says Vineet. -- PTI
