TIRUPATI, APRIL 7. Forest officials have seized 21 red sanders logs weighing 803 kg along with a Tata Sumo vehicle near Mallela cross on Piler-Talupula road in the district. During night patrol, the sleuths belonging to the Tirupati wildlife management noticed a vehicle speeding away at Talupula on sighting them. However, the patrol party successfully chased the vehicle and seized the property worth Rs. 2 lakhs. The accused gave a slip and escaped in the cover of darkness.
