Uttaranchal
By Our Staff Correspondent
DEHRA DUN, APRIL 7. Employees and Provincial Forest Service officers of the Uttaranchal Forest Department have threatened to launch an agitation if the Government does not announce an employee-friendly restructuring of the pay and promotions policy within a month. Addressing newspersons, leaders of the employees and officers' joint front said that the senior officers were trying to keep them stagnant at lower posts despite assurances from the Chief Minister a few months ago. "Although we are denied promotions and better pay citing financial constraints, the Indian Forest Service officers have got themselves promoted three to four times in the last four years," they said. A similar situation prevails over the Uttaranchal Van Vikas Nigam and the employees there have also been holding protest demonstrations.
