Rupee gains further

MUMBAI, APRIL 7. The rupee today posted further gains against the U.S. currency on the back of steady foreign institutional investment inflows and expatriate remittances even as trade remained quiet and range-bound at the interbank foreign exchange market in the absence of clear direction.

Notching up another two-and-half paise gain from Wednesday's close of 43.75/76, the rupee ended at 43.7250/7350 a dollar after trading in a narrow band of 43.7250 and 43.7650 in muted business.
