TIRUMALA, APRIL 7. There will be a live broadcast of the `Suprabhatam' (predawn ritual observed in the Lord Venkateswara temple) seva by the All India Radio from April 9, Ugadi day, daily. Disclosing this to mediapersons, the TTD Special Officer, A. V. Dharma Reddy, said that the TTD was planning the live broadcast of all the rituals that can be done so without any deviation of the sastras from dawn to dusk (i.e. from Suprabhatam to Ekantha seva in the night) on the AIR, for the benefit of the devotees as well as the public. Initially, it is being planned to broadcast the rituals for six hours every day on a separate frequency modulation (FM). Apart from the broadcast of the rituals, Annamayya Sankeerthanas, Veda Parayanam and religious discourses by eminent personalities shall also be aired on the FM allotted to TTD.
Wide coverage
He said that even though all the pre-dawn rituals, including Suprabhatam, Thomala and Archana were put on live broadcast by the AIR for two years between 1995 and 1997, it was given away due to obvious reasons. Mr. Reddy said that once the TTD is allotted with a `Fixed frequency FM station' the live broadcast of all the programmes can be extended to all the cottages, guesthouses at Tirumala, footpath, ghat roads and all other TTD establishments in Tirupati by setting up `receivers' at all the respective areas and cottages with `wireless' facility.
