Sangareddy, April 7. Nomula Anasuya alias Padma (18), member of the Arunodaya Kalamandali, surrendered before the Medak Superintendent of Police, B.L.Sujatha Rao, today. A native of Damarancha village in Yeldurty mandal, Medak district, she discontinued Intermediate first year and joined the cultural wing of the Janashakti group after her elder brother and Janashakti naxalite, Bala Goud alias Suresh, was killed by the police in an encounter in December 2003. Her first contact with the Janashakti naxals was in August during the death anniversary of a naxal, Degala Subhash, at Rudraram village in Mirdoddi mandal. Laxmakka and Kavithakka of the cultural wing lured the young girl into joining the group. Anasuya attended prgrammes conducted by the cultural wing at Vemulawada, Siricilla, Guttikonda, Khammam and Tirupati. Her father, Narayan Goud, who was instrumental in her surrender, told reporters that he did not want one more member of his family die for the revolution. Anasuya said that she decided to quit the group as she has been suffering from epilepsy and was advised to undergo prolonged treatment by doctors. She said that she would finish her studies and help her parents.
