Alappuzha

ALAPPUZHA, APRIL 7. A meeting of officials of various departments held at Thiruvananthapuram today to review the progress of the development and beautification works of canals of Alappuzha decided to complete the second stage of the works before December 31 this year. The Alappuzha-Cherthala canal, the Alappuzha-Ambalappuzha canal and the Murinjapuzha canal here would be cleaned as part of the project. The agency, which would be entrusted with the task of implementing the second stage of the development work, would be decided in a transparent manner by pre-qualification tenders, the meeting decided.
