Singhal alleges conspiracy

By Our Staff Reporter

KOLLAM, APRIL 7. The international working president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Ashok Singhal, said here today that there was a conspiracy behind the move to entrust the bulk of rehabilitation work at the tsunami-hit Alapad to Christian organisations.

Addressing a public meeting at Alapad today, he said the Christian caucus ruling the State is behind the conspiracy. He alleged that political parties and the Government machinery were reluctant to help those from the Hindu communities.

While the Mata Amritanandamayi Math came forward to build the houses for the tsunami victims, the Government-sponsored conspiracy worked against it and handed over the work to Christian organisations. Out of the 29 voluntary organisations entrusted with the task of constructing houses, only two are Hindu organisations, he pointed out.
