5 killed in flash flood

. Five persons were killed and three others missing in a flash flood in a jungle stream at Sathianagar near Pallipalayam near last night. Following heavy rain, water from the stream crossing the Sathiyanagar entered hundreds of huts and houses. According to villagers, water rose to a height of more than eight feet. Three women and two men were washed away. Electric lampposts fell on houses.
After running more than a km, some villagers came to Kadapanallure and informed the Tiruchengode police and revenue officials.
A police team rushed to the area and disconnected power supply.
Heavy rain at Sankari caused the flash flood. The Chinna Aanangur percolation pond breached because of an increased inflow.
