CHENNAI, APRIL 7. The M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation is conducting a residential vacation training programme in bio-resources and biotechnology during April 25 May 10 for school children. The students who have appeared for the Standard X examination and awaiting results are eligible to apply to the programme which aims at giving an exposure to the students on emerging trends in bio-resources conservation and enhancement in the use of biotechnological approaches. The course content includes meeting the experts, field visits and hands-on training in biotechnology. The number of participants will be limited to 20. Students can apply to the Course Coordinator, Vacation Training, MSSRF, Chennai 600 113, through their school Principals (only one nomination per school) before April 15. Selection of candidates will be done by a committee comprising teachers. The selected candidates would be informed by April 20 about the training details, says a release from the Foundation.
