VIJAYAWADA, APRIL 7. The district committee of the Students' Federation of India (SFI) has demanded that the Government take steps to ensure that students of corporate colleges availed their summer vacation in line with the guidelines issued by the Board of Intermediate Education. Though the Intermediate Board secretary, Shashank Goel, had announced summer vacation to junior colleges from April 1 to May 31, the corporate colleges in the city were continuing to run classes in violation of the Board's directive. While experts and psychologists strongly recommended holiday schedule for students to provide them some recreation, corporate colleges were not giving any respite to students by continuing classes. Though the issue was taken to the noticed of the regional authorities, no action was initiated so far, the SFI district secretary, Ch. Krishna said in a press release.
