Case against hospital
S. Narsimha stated that he admitted his wife in the hospital on Wednesday night. Doctors initially assured normal delivery, but performed surgery later resulting in the death of the baby, he charged.
Two held, property recovered
In another case, the Afzalgunj police arrested B. Madhu of Santoshnagar and recovered stolen gold ornaments weighing 10 tolas. Arrest of one more person, Srikanth Yadav, helped in the recovery of two stolen motorcycles worth Rs. 80,000, a press release said.
Dacoits attack farmhouses
Twelve persons gained entry into the farmhouse belonging to Vithal Reddy at Dongala Mysamma crossroads. They woke up the watchman, T. Narsimha (62), and asked him for the keys. Even as the old man pleaded ignorance, they barged into his hut and took the keys. However, Narsimha gave them the slip. Later, the miscreants went to another farmhouse belonging to M. Hanmanth Reddy and attacked the guard, Balraj. As the watchman did not carry any money with him, they tied him with ropes and fled the spot.
