Man charged with incest

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, APRIL 7. In a heinous act, a man allegedly raped his 14-year-old daughter and impregnated her. The crime came to light when the girl's aunt noticed physical changes in her and approached the doctors who confirmed the pregnancy.

The accused, Mahmood, 40, had sent the girl to her maternal grandmother's house in Jahanuma, two months ago. The victim narrated the traumatic experience to her aunt and accused her father of sexually exploiting her. "Mahmood wanted to conceal his crime by sending the girl to her grandmother's house. The doctors had confirmed that she was three-months pregnant by then," the Falaknuma ACP, R. Gopala Raju, said.

Mahmood of Keshavagiri in Chandrayanagutta was working as a waiter in a hotel. He was married 16 years ago and the couple had five children. The victim was the eldest. The accused reportedly threatened to kill the girl if she revealed the matter to anyone. The police have arrested Mahmood.
