THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, APRIL 7. India's universities and scientific institutions like the IITs have a major role to play in strengthening higher education institutions in Africa, thus helping the continent in its economic and educational development, the chairperson of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and the Director of Sri Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), K. Mohandas, said. Dr. Mohandas was addressing mediapersons here today at the end of the four-day council meeting of the ACU held here from April 4. The meeting had been called to develop strategies for expanding ACU's networks across the Commonwealth.
