Thundershowers likely in T.N.

CHENNAI, APRIL 8. Rainfall occurred at many places over interior Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep and at a few places over coastal Tamil Nadu, Kerala and coastal Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Rayalaseema. Mainly dry weather prevailed over north interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in centimetres:-

Red Hills (Tiruvallur dt.), Vallam (Thanjavur dt.) and Dharmapuri 8 each and Tiruttani and Manamadurai 7 each.

Nizamabad and Shimoga recorded the highest maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius in the region.

FORECAST (valid until Sunday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and south interior Karnataka and at a few places over Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur south coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.

Farmers weather bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (Valid until the morning of 10th April, 2005): Moderate rain is likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
