By Our Staff Reporter

COIMBATORE, APRIL 8. The National Egg Co-ordination Committee (NECC) has appealed to the Centre and the Kerala Government to remove the 12.5 per cent value added tax levied by the Kerala Government on live chicken.

A release from the NECC said "Because of the 12.5 per cent tax in Kerala the whole south Indian broiler and cull bird market is affected."

The Chairman of the NECC, Namakkal Zone, P. Selvaraj, appealed to the Kerala Government and the Centre to take immediate action in this regard.
