HYDERABAD, APRIL 8. The proposal of the Government to notify Tirupati town as Municipal Corporation has been challenged in the Andhra Pradesh High Court even before any preliminary notice calling for objections has been published. The High Court judge, Rohini, said that the final notification might not be given but said that the proposal might be processed. E. Hemanath Kumar Reddy and 10 other councillors of the Tirupati municipality filed the plea. They said that the proposal was against the constitutional provisions. The Government pleader said that the writ petition was premature as the preliminary notification calling for it had not yet been given. The judge adjourned the matter.
