TIRUPATI, APRIL 8. The team from Krishna district romped home in the "Karrabilla" event in the finals on Friday, the third day of the rural sports meet being conducted by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Winners have also been announced in the individual events like Karrasamu (boys) and Kunde ata (girls).
Much in demand
Young players who gathered here for the meet swarmed around veteran players and sought autographs. J. Pitchayya of Warangal, the first Arjuna awardee (1970) in ball badminton and Eka Subba Rao, a sports critic and journalist, who founded the Guntur-based City Children Sports and Welfare Association, were busy signing autographs and advising upcoming players.
