MAHABUBNAGAR, APRIL 8. The police seized a tapancha and three live rounds from a jeep here on Thursday. They arrested two persons in this connection. Disclosing this at a press conference here on Friday, the Mahabubnagar DSP, K. Anjayenulu, said the police during a routine check detected the tapancha and the ammunition concealed under the seat of the vehicle. On interrogation the person travelling in the jeep said he was carrying the weapon to defend himself from his rivals in the village. The DSP said the person, Gaddam Pullaiah alias Pedda Pullaiah, was involved in a land dispute. Two others travelling in the jeep took to their heels on seeing the police. The police suspect that could be contract killers. The driver, Jeedi Venkat Ramulu, was also arrested.
