Thundershowers likely in T.N.

CHENNAI, APRIL 9. Rainfall occurred at many places over Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, coastal and south interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Telangana and dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and north interior Karnataka. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Amini and Puttur (Dakshina Kannada dt.) 3 each and Rajapalayam (Virudhunagar dt.) 2. On Friday, the maximum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, rose at a few places over rest Tamil Nadu, rose at one or two places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were markedly to appreciably below normal at a few places over Tamil Nadu, appreciably below normal at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, below normal at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, rest south interior Karnataka, appreciably above normal at one or two places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, above normal at one or two places over Telangana, coastal Karnataka, rest Tamil Nadu and were generally normal over the rest of the region. Nizamabad recorded the highest maximum temperature of 41 degree Celsius in the region.

FORECAST (valid until Monday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh and south interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Telangana, coastal and north interior Karnataka.
