HYDERABAD, APRIL 10. Sports Authority of India (STC, Secunderabad) recorded its third straight win outplaying Accountant General (AP) 5-2 in the A-Division super league hockey championship at Begumpet Police Stadium here on Saturday. The SAI boys shot into lead in the sixth minute when Nitya Jayanand latched on to a neat pass from Veer Singh on the flank to find the target. SAI struck again through right-out Satyanarayana Rao in the 32nd minute. Within a minute, Rajasekhar converted a penalty-corner and just before the break, right-out G. Vijaya Kumar picked up a long pass from the centre by M.A. Aleem, dribbled into the striking zoneand shot home to give SAI a handsome 4-0 lead. In the 51st minute, AG's AP reduced the margin when K. Vijaya Kumar converted a penalty-corner. But SAI increased the lead through centre-forward Aleem, who was quick to trap a long ball from his own half and score. AG's AP centre-forward Habib Mohammad then latched on to a pass from the left-flank by Ilyas Ahmed to score his team's second goal but it came too late to change the course of the match.
