Call centre training institute opened

BANGALORE, APRIL 9. The Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, R. Ramalinga Reddy, today launched the American Call Centre Training Institute, an affiliate of the Darcan Consultants, U.S. The institute will cater to recruitment, placement, sales training, customer service training, personality development, motivation, attitudinal training, organisational behaviour training, voice and accent neutralisation training, operations management and outsourcing.Primarily, the institute's focus will be on preparing qualified personnel for call centres and other business process outsourcing, the institute's training associate, Vijesh, told The Hindu .

Anyone who is over 18 years old and who has completed college education can apply for the courses. The institute, according to Mr. Vijesh, has a capacity to train 25 students at a time. The training process will take 100 hours spread over 15 days. But the cost for the course is yet to be worked out, he said.

The first batch of students will start the training programme on April 15. Students will be subjected to an interview tracking mechanism to find out their communication skills. The institute has organised a free seminar on "Call centre services and training in sales and customer service excellence" at the Karnataka State Cooperative Urban Banks' Federation Limited, 132, K.H. Road, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
