KOCHI, APRIL 9. A two-day conference on `New frontiers in diabetic therapy' began at the Naval Base here today. This is as part of its continuing medical education (CME) programme. Vice Admiral S.C.S. Bangara, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of the Southern Naval Command, inaugurated the event at the Sagarika Naval Base Auditorium. About 75 medical officers from different units of the armed forces and their local civilian counterparts are attending the programme. A distinguished faculty, comprising serving and civilian endocrinologists and other specialists from fields related to diabetes addresses the conference. The aim is to update experts about the disease and to create awareness among the public about various aspects of the ailment.
