By Our Staff Reporter
KURNOOL, APRIL 10. Under the `operation blackbuck' in Adoni area, the forest officials trapped nine blackbucks in Halaharvi yesterday. This is the first catch under the project. The Conservator of Forests, P.K. Jha, asked the staff to transport the animals to the reserve forest at Sirigudipadu near Yarragondapalem in Prakasam district. The Government sanctioned Rs.1 crore for controlling the blackbuck population, which damaged crops. The forest officials decided to trap the animals and shift them to other locations. The DFO, S.S. Reddy supervised the operation.
