Rs. 2.61 crores for rural water supply schemes

NELLORE, APRIL 10. An amount of Rs. 2.61 crores has been sanctioned for undertaking comprehensive rural water supply schemes in Nellore district.

According to information the amount will be spent in three phases. While in the first phase, 41 works will be taken up under general schemes, 19 works will be undertaken under the special component scheme.

The sanction of the amount follows the requisition by the Chief Engineer, Rural Water Supply, to all districts to send details, as per the directives of Central Government.

After going through the proposals received from the district, the State Government sanctioned 63 works, which would be handed over to the village panchayats after the completion of works by the Rural Water Supply Department.

The mandals, which are to benefit from the scheme, include Allur, Chillakur, Jaladanki, Venkatagiri, Vidavalur and Kota. In addition, 10 villages would be selected under the special component scheme.
