Niran in final

MYSORE, APRIL 10. Niran Biddappa from Polibetta set up a title clash with Vinay Chengappa of Mysore in the finals of the boys' under-19 singles in the Open shuttle badminton tournament for Kodavas held at the Kodava Samaja Sports Club here on Sunday.

The results: semifinlas: boys under-19: Niran Biddappa bt Prajwal Poovanna 21-10; Pullera Vinay Chengappa bt Vivek 21-9; boys under-16: Athish Nellmakanda (Madikeri) bt A.C. Appanna (Mys) 21-7; Niran Biddappa bt Vivek 21-4.

Men's singles (quarterfinals): Boppanna bt Thimmaiah 21-9; Chottremanda C Roy bt K. Karumbaiah 21-16; Vinay Chengappa bt C. Thimmaiah 21-4; B. U. Chengappa bt P.G. Papan Kumar 21-18.
