Polls to district, city committees on April 19: PCC

HYDERABAD, APRIL 10. Elections to the District and City Congress Committees would be held on April 19, according to G.S. Baswaraj, Pradesh Election Authority of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).

Office-bearers of these committees, including the presidents and executive committee members, will be elected. Necessary instructions were being issued by the respective District Returning Officers. The party headquarters in the districts/cities will be the venues of the elections.

These decisions were taken at a meeting of the District Returning Officers and DCC presidents at Gandhi Bhavan here on Sunday. K. Keshava Rao, APCC president, Gade Venkata Reddy, vice-president, and K. R. Amos, general secretary in-charge of the membership, attended. Mr. Baswaraj, presided, a press release issued by the APCC said.

The meeting, which reviewed the proposed polls, noted that elections to the primary committees (56,340 booth committees) and 578 block committees were completed as scheduled, except in 10 block Congress committees.
