NEW DELHI, APRIL 10. Two persons, including a suspended Central Reserve Police Force head constable, who allegedly murdered a bus driver at New Ashok Nagar on April 5, were arrested at Khoda Colony in East Delhi this Saturday. The accused murdered the driver following a fight over running buses on the same route. The Police Control Room (PCR) received a call this past Tuesday alleging that a bus driver, Ram Kumar, had been shot by one Rakesh near Mayur Vihar Phase-III. The police reached the spot and rushed Ram Kumar to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. The brother of the deceased, Umesh Jaisawal, told the police that he and the owner, Ranjeet Singh, were travelling in the bus plying on route No. 211 when Rakesh, Balraj, Asha Ram and an unknown person intercepted it, forcing Ram Kumar to jam the brakes. Rajesh and Balraj then boarded the bus and allegedly fired four rounds at Ram Kumar. The police subsequently conducted raids and on Saturday arrested Rakesh, who runs buses on contract basis, from Khoda village. At his instance, they arrested his accomplice, Balraj, a suspended CRPF head constable. During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they plied a bus on the route on which Ram Kumar also ran his vehicle. In a bid to muster more passengers, the two parties would regularly fight with each other, which led Rakesh and his accomplices to allegedly eliminate Ram Kumar.
