HYDERABAD, APRIL 10. Unidentified persons murdered a paralytic woman, aged 35 years, and made a bid on the life of her eight-year-old son near a dargah at Dindigal late on Saturday night. The police suspect two persons, who had brought the woman to the dargah for prayers, strangled her to death after administering some sedative. The boy, later identified as Shanawaj, too, was administered tranquillisers before being attacked with boulders, the Dindigal Inspector, K. Rambhupal Rao, said. According to eyewitnesses, two men, in their mid-thirties, brought the mother and son to the dargah around 11a.m., and requested the muthavali, Syed Khaleelullah, to offer prayers for recovery of the woman. After a few hours, they went to a nearby tea stall.Tea stall owner told the police that she had seen the duo mixing some powder in the tea. "When I asked them what it was, they told me that it was some medicine," the Inspector quoted the woman as saying. A police patrolling party found the boy lying unconscious on the road, near Indiranagar, in the early hours of Sunday. "He was drowsy and in a state of shock," the Inspector said. Police parties inquired in vain in Amberpet area to ascertain the victim's identity after the boy told them that he hailed from that locality. The boy has been shifted to a hospital.
