Incest accused attempts suicide in lock-up

HYDERABAD,
APRIL 10.
Salim Khan (45), who was accused of raping his 14-year-old daughter, attempted suicide by inflicting injuries on himself with a broken bottle in the lock-up of Chandrayanagutta police station on Saturday.
Khan was arrested on Friday on the charge of raping and impregnating his daughter. He was taken into police remand for questioning.
On Saturday evening, Khan broke the bottle after going inside the toilet and inflicted injuries on his abdomen with it. He was rushed to Osmania General Hospital. Doctors said his condition was stable.
Meanwhile, the police registered a case of attempt to suicide against him.
