ERODE, APRIL 11 . Sathyamangalam and its surrounding areas, mainly the forest areas, received heavy rain on Sunday night. Sathyamangalam received 94 mm of rainfall, Bhavanisagar - 32.6 mm, Gobichettipalayam - 11 mm, Erode - 9 mm, Bhavani - 9.4 mm and Dharapuram - 5 mm. As vegetable arrival to the Erode market was affected by the rain, prices of vegetable shot up by 20 per cent. Rainwater entered a few houses at Surampatty in Erode and power supply was stopped for two hours in Sathyamangalam and Erode. In Villarasampatty, a suburb of Erode, as lightning struck ten coconut trees were destroyed.
