HM's initiatives towards BS III norms

NEW DELHI:, Hindustan Motors has implemented several design and engineering modifications to incorporate the Bharat Stage (BS) III norms across product categories of the Ambassador. All the Ambassador variants, Classic, Grand and Avigo, for both 1800 petrol and 2.0 DSZ have already started complying with the recently introduced BS III norms from April 1. These vehicles, certified by the Automotive Research Association of India, Pune, have enhanced features dedicated to better drivability. With the added features, the Ambassador petrol version is expected to be dearer to the customer by Rs. 8,000 whereas the diesel versions of the Ambassador would increase by Rs. 18,000.
