PONDICHERRY, APRIL 11. A team of the Bangalore-based National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), headed by Mohammed Miyan of the Centre of Distance and Open Learning of the Jamia Milia Islamia College, New Delhi, visited the Pope John Paul II College of Education (a privately managed institution) at Reddiarpalayam near here recently. The three-member team had come to inspect and validate the report submitted by the college in August 2004. The members held discussions with principal Rev. Fr. J. Paul and the members of the institute's governing body, staff, students, parents and the alumni. They reviewed the infrastructure and student-support services. There was a suggestion from the chairperson of the team that the college introduce postgraduate courses in education to enable students to continue their studies on the same portals. The other team members were P. Sowmini of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education Andhra University (Vishakapatnam), and C. Abdusalam of the Farook Training College (Kozhikode).
