Upset win for Ashwin Nambi

Unseeded Tamil Nadu lad Ashwin Nambi posted an upset 6-1, 7-5 win over fourth seeded Luv Sodha to enter the under-16 boys' pre-quarterfinals in the AITA Talent Series tennis tournament here on Monday.
The results: Boys: Under-16 (first round): J.R. Sandeep (TN) bt Sujith Mathew (Kar) 6-3, 5-7, 6-2; P. Manikandan (TN) bt R. Nakul (Kar) 7-5, 4-6, 6-2; Ashwin Nambi (TN) bt Luv Sodha (Mah) 6-1, 7-5; P. Nitesh (Kar) bt I.B. Abhishek (TN) 6-3, 6-4; Varun Gunasheelan (TN) bt P. Yeshwanth (AP) 6-3, 6-2.
