PONDICHERRY, APRIL 11. Around 50 senior citizens attended a special health camp on "surgery" conducted by the Pondicherry Government-sponsored Society for the Care of the Aged, on the premises of the society's day care-cum-recreation centre at Brindavanam here recently. The manager of the Society, M. Jayakumar, in a release here, said that after examining the participants, a team of doctors headed by G. S. Naidu, of the Pondicherry Government Hospital, brought to their attention the various ailments faced by the aged and the unique surgical methods available to treat them. A question-answer session was also held. The Society is taking up special themes to treat geriatric patients and has been holding a monthly health camp to create awareness on various modalities available for their benefit. It is also offering services of specialists in the Indian traditional system of medicine as part of the camps.
