ALAPPUZHA, APRIL 11. The Alappuzha District Tourism Promotion Council, the Magic Academy, Thiruvananthapuram and the Bay Watch, Kanyakumari are jointly organising a photo exhibition `India: Illusion and Reality' at the Government Girls' Higher Secondary School Auditorium here on April 12.
The municipal chairperson, Lalithamma Somanathan, will preside over the meeting. Mr. Muthukad will make the introductory speech. The Alappuzha district panchayat president, K. H. Babujan, would be the chief guest.
Mr. Muthukad said the pictures were taken by a photographer attached to his team during their recent visit to various States in the country aimed at spreading the message of Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr. Muthukad said that the pictures included those of monuments which were closely associated with Gandhiji and the freedom movement, the pictures on the life of coal miners in North India, life in the slums of Mumbai, pictures taken at the extremist hideouts of Nagaland, and pictures of various festivals in the country.
Mr. Muthukad said he would organise free magic training to children at the venue on April 13, the second day of the exhibition.
