TIRUPATI, APRIL 12. The Governor, Sushil Kumar Shinde, today called for a deeper study and augmented research in Dravidian languages, culture, folk arts so that their glory was brought out and their nuances exposed to oriental language researchers both at home and abroad. Mr. Shinde was addressing a meeting at Dravidian University, Kuppam, 200 km from here, after participating in a number of programmes on the sprawling campus. Describing research as a continuous process, the Governor wanted the university to organise more and more interactive sessions by inviting experts in Dravidian languages so that light could be thrown on unexplored areas.
Book released
He urged the university to focus on the study of biography and profiles of various saints and spiritual leaders of southern States so that it could serve as a window for researchers abroad. Mr. Shinde released on the occasion a book "Rayalaseema Yogulu" authored by B. Ramaraju and later presided over the planning and monitoring board meeting of the university. Among other participants in the programmes were the Minister for Higher Education, Karnataka, J. Manjunath, the university Vice-Chancellor, R. Srihari, the Chittoor MP, D.K. Audikesavulu, the Rajya Sabha member, N.P. Durga, and the university Registrar, S. Damodar Reddy.
